Today we cycled into the beautiful mountain behind where we stayed and its called Mt Rokko with an altitude of 945m and Jac going to lead us as she has done it many times ago. We started 9.30am after Jac's Philipino maid were here to do the cleaning. The climb started right after the doorstep along a huge wide drain for the mountain water to flow, once after all the houses, the real climb started, being rested for sometimes, the legs were somewhat rusty, I know I had to do it slow at my own pace, Sherco and Jac were strong rider, and waited for me at the view points.Scenery was superb and the winding road was a joy to ride, we reached the highest motorable point and there is the YMCA for a self service coffee for 100yen. After the coffee break, we continued our journey on mostly downhill and there is a 2nd view point where Jac had a short nap. Here i moulted my camera at the seat rack for a video recording for the rest of the downhill section.Once we reached the town, we bought some groceries stuffs like wheat, sugar, can sardine, cooking oil etc to prepare for leaving tomorrow.Foods were really expensive here, 1 kg of sugar for 250Y while in Malaysia it only cost 50Y just an example. The grocery shop owner recommended an Indian restaurant nearby,so we have a real satisfactory lunch of naan, tanddori chicken and chapati for a total of 2880 yen. After lunch ,we continued to ride back and on the way, I tried my luck to check out my ATM cards, and i told Jac to pray hard it will be ok, and thank god,the prayer has answered and now i have no problem to use my ATM cards now.But we still need to fill up our MSR bottles b4 we can leave tomorrow morning, the 1st petrol station ENOS was unsuccessful, guess they don't allow petrol to fill in our tiny bottle rather than into the cars, feeling rather unsatisfied,we went for the 2nd ENOS station some 200m apart, and this time the young attentent has no problem to fill up the 2 bottles for 213 yen.Guess the young one has a better idea of what we want. With everything in place,we are ready to start the actual touring tomorrow, hopefully the weather will be in our favour...

  1. Sifu Meng, in Japan most places accept credit card. I guess it would be safer and cheaper to do the transaction with credit card.
By the way, be extra careful with the gasoline while on the road. And not to let it be too obvious to the police that may cause problem. You don't want them to think you are carrying a Molotov Cocktail :)
