Rise to a very cooling morning and we left the hostel at 8.30am after taking a picture with our Malaysian Flag as requested by the hostel staff.Heading northwest to Kitakyushu all the way following route 10.We enjoy the morning cool freeze minus the rain today.The 1st town is Usa about 42km from Beppu.There is no steep hills to climb,the terrance is rather flat with occasionally little bit of rolling small hills.This route is quite busy with too many trucks but the drivers slow down for us. There is a bike lane most of the times,but with our heavily loaded bikes,it is not good to the rim,spokes and tire when going thru the uneven surface,so i stay out from the bike lane most of the time,while Sherco prefer the bike lane. We have our wonderful lunch stop in Nakatsu in a roadside restaurant called Joyfull which we tried for the first time and we loved it with the best beef i had tested.We will come back for more,definitely.From the map,there were 2 road stations,when we arrived the 1st at 3.30pm ,its still a bit too early to camp,moreover,with the good weather,we decided to proceed to the 2nd raod station. We did not realize of the renovation as we were happily waiting for the shops to close and then we setup the tents. After about an hour,a man came with his workers,asked whether we are staying here tonight. We answered Yes, and he advised us to find somewhere else as tonight will be very noisy here ,he told us in ok english. He realised that we came from Malaysia and he told us he used to backpack to many countries before during his younger days,so he voluntarily offered to send us in his pickup to the next station.On the way,he stop by his house and gave us a basketful of his own onions, and when arrived at the station, he bought us breads and drinks,such a jolly nice guys,and before we part,we took a picture with him. His name is Matsumoto-san !!! Arigato Gozaimas!!!

DeleteNice weather better distance....you had a good one finally. Just wondering how much weight gained with the onions, and why he gave onion?

We only took some and rest gave it away. No entry sign,who bother when it was only 2 of us there
